Lady Gaga Gives First Look at Harley Quinn Costume in ‘Joker’ Sequel Set Photos:- The pop star and actress stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix in the upcoming “Joker: Folie a Deux”.
Lady Gaga was spotted in a Harley Quinn outfit while filming scenes for the upcoming Joker sequel.
On Saturday (March 26), the 36-year-old actress and pop star was photographed in full costume and make-up while filming scenes in New York City for filmmaker Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux, the follow-up to her Oscar nomination. Winning 2019 film starring Joaquin Phoenix.
In photos from the set, Gaga is surrounded by a large crowd as she is led down the stairs of the court building by Gotham City police officers.
Her outfit consisted of a red coat, a white blouse with black diamonds, and a short black skirt. Onlookers are seen holding signs with messages such as “Free Joker” and “Joker Marry Me”.
Though not confirmed yet, Gaga is believed to be portraying the DC character Harley Quinn in the sequel to Joker.
On February 14, Phillips shared a photo of Phoenix coming face-to-face with Gaga’s character on his Instagram. In the snapshot, Gaga holds Phoenix’s face in her hands, his eyes wide open, with evidence on both of their red-paint-smeared faces that they’ve just kissed.
The pop star and actress confirmed her starring role in the August 2022 Joker sequel by posting a teaser clip on her Instagram, which features silhouettes of Phoenix and Gaga dancing together to the song “Cheek to Cheek”, which Gaga covered with Tony Bennett.
Folie à Deux, which is currently in production, will also feature Zazie Beetz, who returns as Sophie, as well as newcomers Catherine Keener and Brendan Gleeson in as yet undisclosed roles.
Joker: Folie à Deux is expected to open on October 4, 2024.
