Twitter CEO Elon Musk shared a “dot” in the form of his post on the microblogging platform on Tuesday, which left all his followers in splits and prompted people to speculate what it meant.
Social media users showered several funny comments on the post, which made it extremely viral on the internet. The abstract tweet has garnered over 20 million views and over 150,000 likes.
Taking a dig at the ‘I-am-offended’ culture, one user wrote, ‘I am angry’ and another user replied, ‘You don’t understand the point here.’
The series of interesting comments continued, with users brainstorming to find out what the dot meant and some poking fun at it.
A historian named Mateo M wrote that this is the “new one-character limit for the legacy blue checkmark”.
Meanwhile, Musk said on Sunday that the last three months have been “extremely difficult” as he had to “save Twitter from bankruptcy” while also fulfilling his duties at Tesla and SpaceX.
Musk said on his official Twitter handle that challenges remain in the microblogging site.
“Last 3 months were extremely difficult, as I had to save Twitter from bankruptcy while fulfilling essential Tesla and SpaceX duties,” Elon Musk tweeted.
I wouldn’t wish that pain on anyone. Twitter still has challenges, but it is now moving towards break-even if we keep at it.
Public support is much appreciated!” he tweeted in response to The Wall Street Journal news article.
Just a week after Musk closed a $44 billion deal to buy Twitter in October, he lamented the company’s “severe decline in revenue,” which he attributed to “activist groups pressuring advertisers.” According to news reports, since then he has made several changes on Twitter.
