Elon Musk says not restricting his kids from social media was a ‘mistake’: ‘They are programmed’:- Business magnate Elon Musk said on Wednesday that he made a ‘mistake’ by never banning his children from using social media.
Musk, who is very active on social media, said he feels his children are programmed by websites such as Reddit and video hosting and sharing website YouTube.
“I try not to restrict social media for my kids, which may be a mistake.” They are programmed by Reddit and YouTube. Addressing the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk said, “I would limit social media a little bit more than in the past … see what they’re seeing.”
According to the entertainment website People, Elon Musk is the father of 10 children, with the eldest born in 2002 and the youngest in 2021.
During the 35-minute speech, Musk touched on scientifically advanced topics such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the possibility of aliens.
The billionaire also got a little political and said that we should be worried about becoming too much of a one-world government.
Musk, who bought social media platform Twitter in a $44 billion deal, said he would lead the company until the end of the year to “get things right” before handing it over to a new chief executive officer (CEO).
“I need to stabilize the organization … make sure it is in a healthy place financially and the product road map is clearly laid out,” he said.
Musk has announced several times that he will eventually step down from the leadership of Twitter and focus on his other companies.
Investors in his other company, Tesla, were reportedly unhappy as the billionaire spent most of his time on social media platforms.
Last year, about $720 billion worth of Tesla shares were wiped out over fears that Musk would join Twitter. Later the shares rallied again as demand for electric vehicles remained high.
Musk believes that Tesla and SpaceX can go on without his active involvement. SpaceX “has been able to make a lot of progress despite the short time I’ve spent there,” he said, while Tesla demands less time now than it did a few years ago.
