Elon Musk and Joe Rogan joke about the risks and realities of humans migrating to Mars:- In an episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Elon Musk discussed the potential for humans to migrate to other planets and the risks associated with such a move. He argued that we must begin exploring other planets to ensure our long-term survival.
The billionaire entrepreneur dismissed the idea that only the wealthy could afford a ticket to another planet, emphasizing that the journey to Mars is much more dangerous and carries a “high risk of death compared to Earth.”
Despite the risks involved, Elon Musk believes it would be an incredible achievement if humanity could become a multi-planetary species:
It’s not like, you know, attendance is mandatory here, you know. And uh it’ll be dangerous, and people might die as well… sometimes they’d be surprised.
Some people think that… the idea is like oh, Mars is going to be an escape hatch, some luxury resort for rich people. I’m like no… it’s like a high probability of death relative to Earth.
It’s a long journey… food is probably not great. A lot of hard work… I mean it’s like… it sounds like you know Shackelton’s ad for the Antarctic where it’s like, it’s dangerous, it’s a long journey., the food’s bad. Might not make it back. But if you do it’ll be glorious.”
Joe Rogan and Neil deGrasse Tyson discuss the impact of psychedelic substances on the human brain
Joe Rogan is well-known for his advocacy of psychedelic drugs, particularly marijuana. He has even experimented with more powerful psychedelics such as DMT.
On an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, guest Neil deGrasse Tyson explained to Rogan why he does not take psychedelic drugs. According to him, the human brain is not equipped to comprehend the natural world, and thus it is not a good idea to introduce psychoactive substances into the equation:
“The human mind barely works as it is… Our brain barely works as an accurate decoder of the natural world around us, you now want to stir in chemicals? I have always valued objective reality. I don’t want anything interfering with my understanding of what is happening in front of me.”
Speaking further, Tyson also expressed skepticism towards the claims of those who said they had experienced alternate realities while taking drugs. He noted that they had never been able to provide any evidence.
